Hello and happiest of Thursdays to you!
We’ve had the most beautiful stretch of sunshine this week, and I’m considering us the luckiest of ducks for it—unbelievable weather and a little spring break! As much as possible, we’ve been living outside. This double stroller is racking up the miles.
A few highlights from the week so far:
• I started a new Pilates workout routine (streaming here)! It’s only been a few days, but I’ve genuinely been looking forward to it each morning.
• I downloaded a new devotional app, and I’m loving it. It’s simple, really well done, and I love that it gets me into the Word first thing in the morning.
• I made a batch of my favorite muffins (recipe here). There’s truly nothing quite as lovely as a homemade muffin and a cup of coffee at 3 PM in the sunshine—so life-giving!
Between these three things, I feel like I’m sprinkling little treats throughout my day, and honestly, I love a day full of treats.
Nothing too wild happening over here, so let’s jump into a few things I can’t wait to share with you. I’m switching up the format a bit, and I’d love to hear your thoughts—hoping it feels a bit more intentional… and that it hits the mark!
Something Fun for the Littles:
I ordered this blow-up swimming pool for the backyard (don’t make the same mistake I did and order the small one, whoops!), and we pulled it out yesterday morning, turned on some bubbles (this is *the* best), and we had ourselves the best time. Consider this your official yearly reminder that bubbles and water solve a lot of problems. Also, Juliet in her first swimsuit (and hat!)—I. DIE.
Current Random Obsession:
I ordered another set of these snack containers, and I cannot explain why I find them so fun, but I do! They make snack prep so easy, and I love them. Two for $12!
Beauty Product I Tried This Week:
I did something wild—I tried a self-tanner (color medium)! After hearing so many great things (both online and from real-life girlfriends), I thought, why not? I just did my legs and only left it on for the bare minimum of two hours to test it out… and color (no pun intended) me impressed.
It just took the edge off, and I’m not complaining! I’ll definitely be doing this again—maybe even letting it sit a little longer?! It was honestly fun, and while I like my natural skin tone, this was a nice little boost. I’d give it an 8/10—no streaks, no orange tint, just docking two points for the smell (not bad, but not my fave). Also, exfoliate beforehand! I used this scrubber, and it made a difference.
I loved it so much that I reached out to the brand to see if I could get a code for you… and sure enough, I did! (Code: ASHBROOKE15 for 15% off full-sized standalone products)
Something Fancy:
I love jewelry—who doesn’t?! I’d take diamonds over a new handbag any day of the week, and I just added a new little sparkle to my collection. Ring Concierge can do no wrong, and this double-stack ring is just so pretty. The price is amazing—lab-grown sapphires are going for even more! It would make such a lovely gift.
What’s Cooking:
I mentioned this in Monday’s post, but do yourself a favor and add this Slow Cooker Pulled BBQ Pork Bowl recipe to your must-try list. Easy, quick, plenty of leftovers, and—most importantly—(my!) kid-friendly.
Worth Listening:
I fell out of my Lazy Genius listening routine for a few months, but I’m back! If you haven’t listened to How to Create a Flexible Weekly Plan yet, I think you’ll love it.
Outfit Repeater:
I’ve been wearing this and this on repeat lately! And I currently have my eye on this—OMG, so pretty. Spring really is my favorite season for both dressing and shopping!
Sparking Joy:
My sister’s weekly sourdough delivery. Everyone in my house is very happy about it. What a gift fresh bread is! And if we’re talking best-ever meals, a fully loaded turkey sandwich with bacon, heirloom tomatoes, dressed arugula (lemon and mayo), avocado, and fig jam is *it* for me. Absolute perfection!
Okay I have to stop myself, I could keep going.. but until next week! xx
